Beans, Bath, And Beyond

Hey there, hey!

Well, I've been MIA here lately due to our vacation & finals. Excuses, excuses, I know. Well I'll fill you in on our first full day back at home, besides doing laundry & all the other yada yada details of our day.

I got rid of all our squirt bath toys, really glad too after seeing THIS. I organized them and bought a couple new, cleaner toys to replace them. I also made homemade bathtub paint, like THIS.

I started some sprouts. (Directions HERE)

My Wish List - Mother's Day Edition

I don't know about you, but my Amazon wish list is never ending! So Hubby take note, here is my top 10   3 "wishes" for Mother's Day. Please tell me why out of about 100 things I can only find 3 I really want right now?

I had one of these as a kid & loved it!

I LOVE this movie & Judy Garland. My musical collection is greatly lacking might I add.

If I can't travel somewhere physically, I can travel there by the way of a book. I'm currently obsessed with France & this is my next pick to read on the subject!

Mommy Monday: Preschool Monster Theme Week

Last week was monster week at our house! I made sure Joey wore his Monster PJ's, we read a lot of monster books, watched a few monster movies, & tried to do a few monster activities.

HERE is the list of books we read. Not counting the ones we got from the library.

We watched Monsters VS. Aliens (its animated, I don't like it, but Joey loves it), Where The Wild Things Are (I don't like Max's behavior in the beginning so we made it a learning moment), & Monsters Inc.

We also found a Monster Memory Game printable

We also did some Slimy Monster Sensory like shown here.

Joey absolutely loved monster week! I wish I would have put a little more effort into it. We are doing an "Ocean" theme this week. Hopefully he will like it just as much!

That's The Glory Of Love.. As A Parent

Have you ever seen Beaches? If not, you should. It's a classic. I didn't realize that Mayim Bialik (HERE is her blog) played young CC Bloom.

Anyway, on to my point.

The Glory Of Love... as a parent!

You've got to give a little.. Time, energy, love, & money. Wait, you give a lot of those things. You do also give hugs, kisses, & snuggles. Oh and bladder control, you gave that up too.

Take a little... help, when you can get it! You also take any chance to pee or shower alone.

Let your poor heart break a little... When you realize your carpet & furniture won't be stain free for a very long time. When they cry when you drop them off at preschool. When they're sick and you can't make it all better.

You've got to laugh a little... Note: Do this a LOT! When your kids say the funniest thing ever, daily. Enjoy that. Be silly though, make them laugh. They're only little so long. Not only that, but we never know when our last moments on earth will be. So make memories & enjoy the time you do have! Don't laugh too hard though, remember you gave up bladder control?

Cry a little... When you feel disgusted with your body, post child. When you just want sleep. When you just want help. When you have to make those scary decisions you sometimes have to make as a parent. When you just feel like a failure, but you're not.

In the end, it's a big crazy happy/sad/exciting/scary (oh the list could go on) thing, called parenting. Live in the moment though. Laugh when something is funny. Cry when it's sad. Just remember that no matter what it's all just a phase. Before it you'll be on to the next stage in the blink of an eye.

Until the clouds roll by a little.
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

Mommy Monday: Rainy Day/Bored Box

Saturday was sort of a "test out my latest Pinterest ideas" kind of day. We had a LOT of trial and error. I decided I needed a box of activities to keep Joey busy when he was bored or cooped up inside. This won't be available for daily play, I'll only bring it out when I feel I need to. It was supposed to rain this weekend so I figured this time was better than ever. Here is what I put in our Rainy Day, Busy, Bored Box whatever you want to call it:

(From top left to right)

-Balloons (good gross motor)
- Mini Magnadoodle (I think that's what they're called)
- A sensory bag (Idea found HERE)
- Coffee play dough "dirt" (Recipe HERE)
- Homemade maracas
- Clothespin drop bottle (great for fine motor)
- Crayola glass crayons
- Sensory balloons (I made these about a year ago. I have no clue where the idea came from. They're each filled with something different: flour, salt, beans, rice, & hair gel)

It's Friday?!

As a stay at home mom I feel that it's really easy to get "lost in the sauce". Seriously, I just realized it's Friday! Despite the fact that I had a meeting this morning & I bought groceries (which I do every other Friday). Shoot, I'm supposed to pay bills today too, another pay day task. See what I mean about "lost in the sauce"? Maybe I'm just too terribly unorganized.

This morning was, I wouldn't say bad, but tiresome. Long story, maybe I'll blog about it another day. It's just not the time for all that just yet. I decided to treat myself a little & I bought some pretty flowers to brighten up my mood. I got some chocolate too, because you can't go wrong with chocolate.

I have absolutely NO clue what Joey and I are doing this weekend, beyond tonight. Tonight we are watching movies and eating pizza. I wanted to take him to the Zoo this weekend, since we have a membership already & we usually get stir crazy on the weekend.

Our features for the evening. Is it sad that I picked a movie for myself out of the children's section at the library? I love Lindsay Lohan's (pre-crackhead) movies!

Dinner! I cut myself some slack on the weekends.

My pretty flowers in a vase! Am I having an affair with myself? Flowers, chocolate, dinner & a movie? Hmmm...

See what I mean? Not exactly zoo weather. Then again, we do live in Texas so this is likely to change any second.

Just A Little Introduction

Hi! I'm Beth, the blogger here at The Little Momma That Could. I've blogged previously, but took about a year long break. I've decided to start from scratch, & here I am!

First I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a stay at home mom & college student. My son Joey is two, he is a wild and crazy mess! My Hubby (Kyle) works in the oil field, so he's gone a lot. My husband and I are both originally from Oklahoma, but we moved to Texas for his job. It's weird to think that my son is a Texan!

I'm a pretty silly person. After losing my massive amount of pregnancy weight I'm trying to live a fairly fit and healthy life, I fail a lot. I'm a Christian. I'm not crafty. I'm a book nerd. I love Pinterest (who doesn't?). I really enjoy playing with my son, I like to think that we have a lot of fun!

Now, I hope I haven't ran too many of you off! So stick around and see where this fresh new blog will go!

PS. Tell me about yourself!
